The New Self

I established in my last post that the ego will frequently block our path to success, if what we want to achieve is at odds with what we believe right now.

Beliefs are often created and adopted into our minds from a small, illogical statement or event. Just one tiny statement, forgotten by the one who made it, can lodge itself in your belief system and hold you back!

As an example of a single statement being accepted unquestioningly as a belief by an individual, I would like to tell you about a good friend. He remembers to this day a comment made on one of his school report cards (he’s now 36 years old) – “If he wants to achieve all he desires, he will have to work much harder for it”, were the sternly penned remarks from the teacher. To this day, my friend believes that he will not be rich as he doesn’t work hard enough. Those words from that teacher (who no doubt will have completely forgotten having written them) have stuck in my friend’s mind, being adopted into his belief system and forever limiting him from achieving what he desires!

NO! Stop this right now! We must all see how childish and illogical beliefs are which are based on so little. My friend has achieved so many amazing and remarkable things throughout his life which (if he chooses) can be the basis of a whole new belief, huge enough to crush this silly, unencouraging teachers comment!

So look at your beliefs, write them down, put them under the spotlight. See how flimsy they are. Be argumentative and think of all the wonderful positive things you have done and achieved which crush these silly blockers, and write them down. Scribble out the old beliefs with a thick black pen, and make sure those new empowering beliefs overwrite them boldly!

Now believe them always. Whenever you find yourself being negative, say STOP! And bring to mind immediately your new wonderful belief.

See yourself as the person you intend to become. Really see yourself – what clothes are you wearing? How do you feel? Where are you? Perhaps you’re drinking champagne on a rooftop balcony; if so, what can you hear, see, feel and smell? Who are you with? What about if you visualise yourself in the car you have always wanted? What does the inside of that new car smell like? Feel the steering wheel in your hands.

Self development is something you need to work on. Make sure you are aware of your thoughts – really be in the present and if you find yourself thinking of one of your old excuses or beliefs, say STOP! Then consciously turn your thoughts to your new successful thoughts. If you keep doing this, your new thoughts will come more naturally and frequently until they dominate.

Then these new thoughts will become your new reality.

Keep trying – this does work!

All the best.

New Beginnings

Ok, so today is the first day of a new fantastic journey for me. This is because today I made the decision to change my life. It has to change as I am not yet rich enough - not rich enough in life: enjoyment, excitement, confidence, friends or money.

I am very happy in many ways - I have so many wonderful things in life. The biggest thing in life at the moment is the new discovery that I am pregnant. How exciting - my own science project going on right now inside of me. The prospect of a new life. After a long time of waiting for it.

This has acted as the spur to make my life as brilliant as it should and can be, for the sake of myself and my happiness, the happiness of those around me, and of course the happy existence I intend my new baby to be born into!

I have always been a keen student of self development and improving my life, but I realise now that I am still struggling with blockers. Block 1 to deal with today, is that of the ego.

The ego is a thing, and idea. It's an idea of who you are and what identifies and defines you. It is a hardy and reliable piece of paraphanalia put in place by the human mind. It is probably to keep us 'safe' and to prevent us entering dangerous or compromising situations, and to protect that which we percieve to be ourselves. However the ego often prevents us from shedding old, outdated beliefs which impede our progress and efforts towards improving our lives and changing our views and beliefs.

The ego fears change. It fears it's own demise. If the ego is an idea of what our current reality and personality is, then any change is the death of that ego. It is an illogical thing, which actually prevents us becoming something more than we currently are. My own ego has lots of beliefs about my life - lots of excuses as to why I am not happy or lacking in certain areas of my life.

Today I took responsibility, and wrote down all the reasons why I do not have the things I most desire in life. This list has revealed lots things; reasons - a lot of them flakey and illogical - for my lack of success. Just by writing these 'reasons' down, I have now focussed my mind on these things which hold me back. Even through my consciousness of these things, I can begin to reject these illogical blockers to my progress.

After consciousness, the next step must be action. I find the only answer to worry, doubt and fear is action! My first act to eradicate these personal blockers is to write down exactly what I am doing, so here it is.

I intend to make myself and my reality rich in all kinds of ways, by overcoming illogical reasons for not having joy and wealth in my life. I choose to be rich.

Today is my first blog entry.
Today I have begun designing a website - a free resource for everyone like me who yearns for joy, wealth, excitement and all good things in life.

So I encourage everyone to take a stand and shake their ego by the scruff of the neck today! If you are not entirely happy with any area of your life, write down all your reasons for why you are not yet rich in life. Have a look at them. You will find all those reasons are actually illusions which block your path.

If you feel resistance to doing this, you'll find it's your ego, fighting against you doing this - it doesn't want you to become conscious of the reasons. If it argues with you over the reasons you find, dig deeper - it may be hiding even more illogical reasons from you.

Write them all down, become conscious of them, and knock them down.

When you do this, you will change yourself and your beliefs, and the first new door opens for you to step through into the hallway of your new life!

Best wishes to you for the start of your new beginning!
